Hi everyone
Long time no see, or rather long time, no write! In between what seems to be a lot of wet weather, it has been very sunny here and those of you who know me, know that I am a sunshine girl. Born in August and therefore I love summer. When the weather is grim I tend to hibernate.
Now what has been happening since I last posted my diary? My eye problem has cleared up completely, thank goodness - the local boy cats thought I was winking at them! I am still reducing the local wildlife - why do humans not like the presents I bring them! Four weeks ago we had Sage, Angelica, Sorrel and Basil staying with us; just over two weeks ago they moved to another fosterer's home because Jill was away for a few days and doing other things. Guess what? We have Sage and Angelica back with us and they have grown so much. Basil and Sorrel are settled into their new home and I am sure they have grown just as much as their brother and sister.
I have noticed that the fish in our pond are a lot more lively when the sun shines. I will have to keep a close eye on them, just in case they sneak out. I am not sure why, but Jill and Richard have covered the pond in netting. When Jill feeds them, I try to pinch their food! It's rather tasty. Something else I enjoy doing, but it seems nobody else is very pleased when I do it.
Richard has his new shed - Jill has told him it would make a lovely summer home for him, room for a bed and he already has electricity and water at that end of the garden. Perhaps she wants him to move in there so she can have more cats here? More cats? I hope not! Only room for me and 'the others' that I live with.
I think I am about up-to-date now, so think it is time for me to do a little sun bathing.

MILLY'S DIARY
Hello everyone
Running very late this week! With Jill out of action, I have to do everything: nurse, housekeeper, 'new' kitten looker-afterer, my day's work is never done. It will be so nice when she is able to do things again, such as feed us! Richard tries very hard but after all the years of cat-loving, he still doesn't realise that the first thing he should do when he gets up in the morning is feed us! No, it is not have a cup of tea - get your priorities right Richard.
After last week's BIG NEWS everything settled down in Christmas Pie and the big discussion has been around names for the new kittens. As I mentioned last week, lots of alternatives had been discussed and abandoned, but now a final decision has been made. Coco is going to continue to be known as Coco and Holly will be called Poppy - so we have Coco Pops. Jill and Richard laughed at these names, not sure why - humans have an odd sense of humour we cats (and kittens) don't understand.
I have to go now, so many chores to do and so little time to do them in. Woking Cats Protection are going to be at the Black Cherry Fair in Chertsey, Surrey on Saturday, 13 July and it is a big event, so do try to go along and support them - tell them Milly from Christmas Pie sent you.

MILLY'S DIARY
Hello everyone
A gorgeous week of sunshine, but today grey and soggy - it doesn't stop me going out and having fun though. I haven't brought any more wild-life home, but the feather collection is increasing - well it would be if Jill kept them!
However, the BIG news of the week is that Coco and Holly have been adopted - by Jill and Richard! They came to the decision that they couldn't really part with them so yesterday was THE day - all the paperwork was completed and they are now official Christmas Pie residents.
Coco and Holly haven't really responded to their names and although Jill and Richard have always kept the original names of their adopted cats and kittens, Jill wants to change the names of the two newbies. First of all it was going to be Coco and Chanel (as in the designer), then Poppy and Rosie because they like the flowers and the latest idea is Coco and Coffee. Coco and Coffee are rather good names because they are very dark tortie cats - but watch this space.
It is settling-in-and-getting-used-to-each-other time here. Jazz is fine with them - he likes anything with four legs - I am OK-ish and getting better, but Daisy isn't too sure about them. She likes a quiet, calm life and we kittens can be very boisterous, because we like to play, rush around and jump and climb on things (and cats).
Although Coco and Holly now have a 'new' home, there are still lots of cats and kittens who are looking for their own new home, so don't forget to visit the Woking Cats Protection website if you are looking for a cat or kitten to adopt.
I have to check on the kittens (okay they are only one month older than I am, but I'm in charge) and then back out into the garden to play.

MILLY'S DIARY
Hello everyone
She has done it again!! Despite throwing all of my toys out of my furry igloo, stamping all of my paws on the floor, Jill has brought home another kitten! Yes, I know he is cute and yes, I know he is a kitten, but there is only room in this home for one cute kitten: ME!
His name is Henry and he is tabby and white, well white and tabby really because there is only a patch of tabby on his face and his tail is tabby. Jill says he is lovely because he purrs when she picks him up, sits on her lap and cuddles up to her and talks to her too. I purr. I sit on her lap. I cuddle up to her. OK, so I don't talk a lot - but I don't have to, my eyes say everything.
Jill is trying to get some photographs of him - he wriggles a lot so difficult to get a picture of his face. Do I care? There should only be photographs of me in my diary. I must remind Jill to take some more of me - I am so gorgeous the world needs to see lots of photographs of me.
I have had a busy morning checking up on Henry, so I think a short snooze is needed. I will be back next week with more 'tails' of my life - in the meantime have fun and let's hope we don't have any snow.

LOVELY, LOVELY SUNSHINE
Hi everyone
What a beautiful day it has been. Thinking back to a week ago, who could have foreseen such a change in the weather. The forecast shows this week will see a couple of days with temperatures in double figures - perhaps spring is on the way.
A busy week that has involved card-making to re-stock my wall at Bourne Mill Antiques Centre as well as completing three card orders - photographs of two of them are below. As so often happens with me, I forgot to photograph all of them.
The brief for one of the cards was for a wildlife (in particular tigers, whales and elephants), Tudor dynasty, poppies and Rachmaninov loving person. With photographs I already had and other copyright-free ones, I managed to fulfil the requirements of my customer and I gather the recipient was very happy with their card.
This week has also been, groan, tax-return week. Just need to do a final check before I send it to the HMRC. I always feel very relieved that has been done.
Handmade Monday reached the grand total of 100 posts last week and Wendy, the blog's owner, celebrated with some fantastic give-aways each day. There is still time to enter and there are some amazing goodies - I entered each day and am really hoping to be one of the lucky winners. Many thanks, Wendy, for as very interesting week.
My pottery course began again this week (well for me it did as I missed the first week). We have an ambitious project this term which is landscaping - creating pots or wall plaques with scenes. I have decided to create a plaque and have so far added mountains, rocks falling down a hillside and also added some trees using twigs/branches pressed into the clay. Once it looks presentable I will photograph it and post it on my blog.
My workshops are moving, very, very slowly, so I think I need to step up the promotion of them which so far I have not been very proactive about. Work for this week includes making Valentine's Cards for Bourne Mill and my website and I will also add some to my Etsy shop.
We went to one of our regular family get-togethers yesterday. Always great fun, time goes too quickly and it was really nice to catch up with everyone - lots of lovely food too. Thank you Maralyn, hope today has been feet up time for you.

MILLY'S DIARY - WEEK ONE
Hi everyone
I have just been called a kleptomaniac!! Is that the way to treat a new kitten that has moved into your home? Okay, okay, I have collected a few things since moving in: a carrier bag, a scarf, a pen, a sock - plus lots of other things that my new family know nothing about! But name-calling is not something I expected and surely they realise that I was only collecting things I need to go shopping with!
Yesterday I celebrated being here for four weeks - but only one week has been as a 'proper' family member and I can honestly say I am loving my new life. Good food, plenty of warm places to sleep, two humans who think I am wonderful, lots of lovely toys and a very snug igloo that I have to battle Daisy with to occupy.
I now live with two grown-up cats, Daisy and Jazz. They are both four years old and I love Jazz, I follow him around, play with him (but he does occasionally bop me when I get too playful) and I curl up with him on the sofa each evening. Not so sure about Daisy yet, don't think she is very keen on me but I am sure I will win her over.
My first week has been spent exploring everywhere because being in a home is brand new to me and as you can imagine there are lots of exciting places to check out. I have discovered there is so much fun to be had here: climbing curtains is wonderful, getting into cupboards and drawers is great fun as is throwing the contents out on to the floor. Computers are incredible - things keep moving across the screen and I try to catch them, no success yet, but I won't give up. The keyboard is great fun too as is sitting on the iPad screen! That one doesn't seem popular with Jill who claims she is working! Doesn't look like work to me!
I think I need a snooze. I am only 17 weeks old and get tired quickly, but I will be back next week with more tales of my new life and also some photographs.
